VOLUNTEER with FLAMINGO CHICKS

Join our amazing, award-winning volunteer community!

Flamingo Chicks’ volunteering programme combines passion, energy and a sense of fun to break down barriers to inclusion and support children and families across the country. Volunteers are right at the heart of Flamingo Chicks and we couldn’t be more proud of our team of over 571 intergenerational volunteers.

There are so many ways that you can get involved as a volunteer, whether you have a lot of time to give, or a few hours here and there. Check out some of our opportunities below!

Dance Helper

Working directly with children and vulnerable adults, you’ll help and encourage them to have fun, engage and participate in the class. You will also support the Flamingo Chicks’ Dance Teacher and the class setting. You can volunteer online, or face-to-face and you don’t need to be a dancer: we welcome all volunteers that are passionate about supporting others.

Fundraising Champion

There are many fundraising opportunities at Flamingo Chicks and we welcome support in all areas of fundraising – come and join the team! It’s an enjoyable, collaborative experience: whether you want to support on a particular campaign – including our flagship May 100 challenge, support at one of our events, or help develop our online shop – there are so many ways to get involved!

We always require support in our Operations and back office functions, so if you have expertise and skills that you think we would find useful, then please get in touch. Areas where we regularly require additional support are: Graphic Design; Communications; Social Media; HR; Finance/Accounting support; Administration; IT support.

In the words of our volunteers:

“Volunteering as a dance helper gives me a chance to feel part of a team again. All the volunteers and teachers are so friendly and I feel  valued for the small contribution I make. It gives the children so much joy when they’re enabled to express themselves through dance – I feel proud to be part of the Flamingo Chicks team.” – Julie, Dance Helper

“I feel a sense of purpose and belonging volunteering at Flamingo Chicks. The sessions are so joyful that I smile throughout and leave with a spring in my step. I enjoy making a contribution to the wider community and feel valued as part of an organisation that is forward thinking in its approach to diversity and inclusion.” Terry, Volunteer
