Head of Dance Sam McCormack


Sam is a professional Dance Artist based in West Yorkshire, and is Flamingo Chicks’ Head of Dance. She has over 15 years of professional experience working with people of all ages within communities, education and health settings, and with professional dance organisations. Her practice is particularly centred around communities and dance for health; providing high quality, accessible artistic experiences that promote joy, connection and belonging for all.

Alongside working with Flamingo Chicks, Sam runs her own dance and arts organisation, Curious Motion, which provides a range of dance and arts experiences with communities in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. She is also an Associate Artist for English National Ballet and part of the Learning and Participation team at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.

Sam trained at Bretton Hall (University of Leeds), the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, and she completed her MA in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School in 2012.
