
VICKY HEALES
- Head of Dance
Vicky is Flamingo Chicks’ Head of Dance. She is both an experienced researcher and Inclusive Dance Teacher, based in West Sussex. She has spent the past 8 years writing dance reviews for print, teaching practically, planning dance activity and building relationships. This has included work with prestigious companies such as Rambert Dance Company, Whizz Kids and Para Dance UK. Vicky’s Inclusive Dance career started with YMCA East Surrey where she taught dance voluntarily alongside a PA role. Since then she has been passionate about serving her community. In 2016 Vicky set up her own inclusive dance company, focusing on wheelchair dance, having trained with Para Dance UK – the national governing body for disability dance.
Vicky is passionate about promoting a neurodiverse society and has also spent a lot of time working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
She obtained a BA (hons) degree in Dance from University of Chichester in 2006 and went on to study a Masters level module in Dance Writing & Criticism from University of Chichester at Sadler’s Wells Theatre.
