We’re back with a new virtual class, ready for the Coronation! A beautifully animated, fully inclusive 20 minute session for disabled and non-disabled children alike, featuring Makaton throughout and packed full of creativity – taking children on an exciting and immersive journey.
Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III, Flamingo Chicks has teamed up with The Company of Pikemen & Musketeers who feature in cameos, demonstrating how to copy their signature moves!
Children will learn about our new King and the traditions involved with a Coronation, discover the rich history of our monarchy, and take a look at royal residences like Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Westminster Abbey. We will learn about the chronology of the monarchy, and individuals who have contributed to national or international achievements, such as Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. We will explore the regalia and cover key vocabulary such as orb and sceptre.
And, of course, no celebration of the Coronation would be complete without exploring the royal family’s stunning crowns, jewels and state dress. With capes and trains, bows and curtseys, flags, castles and parades, Flamingo Chicks will mark this national celebration with thousands of disabled children across the UK in a unique fusion of accessible dance, togetherness and learning.
The sessions are fully adapted for a range of physical needs, supported by Makaton signing, captions, Widgit symbols and beautiful animation. Whilst designed for disabled children, ALL children can enjoy this colourful, engaging and educational dance experience.
The class is FREE and perfect for large group activities, such as school assemblies and events, as well as smaller groups and individual children.
