Katie is Flamingo Chicks’ CEO. She founded Flamingo Chicks in 2013 frustrated at the lack of inclusive opportunities for her daughter Poppy who has cerebral palsy. The very first class had space for 15, yet 200 applied! Since then, 30,000 children have danced with Flamingo Chicks.
Katie brings entrepreneurial and charity changemaking expertise to Flamingo Chicks with 20 years’ experience helping organisations function ethically and responsibly.
Katie Sparkes, Founder and CEO of Flamingo Chicks has been made an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2021.
She’s won numerous awards for her contribution to the global community including the Outstanding Young Persons of the World Award, a Point Of Light Award from the Prime Minister and the Independent Newspaper’s ‘Happy List’ of people who make the country a better place.
