Dance Teacher

Matt started dancing in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire with an interest in musical theatre and acting. He undertook a performing arts course at college in Leeds, with a keen focus in dance. Following this, Matt completed his professional training at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance in 2010.

After Graduating Matt joined EDge 11, the postgraduate performance company of London Contemporary Dance School and studying repertory from Jeremy James. Matt has performed professionally in the UK and Internationally with Jorge Crecis, John Ross, Caroline Bowditch, Dam Van Huynh and Nuno Silva.

Matt has a keen interest and passion for teaching and has worked for London Contemporary Dance School, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Samuel Rhodes Special School, Middlesex University and Birkbeck University. He has a wide range of experience working with people of many ages and levels of experience, such as young people in pre-professional training, disabled people, dance students, adults and professional dancers. His teaching practice is centred on inclusivity and empowerment, enabling people of any background and experience to reach their full potential.
