Rachel Clarke is a dance artist, choreographer, and community practitioner with over 15 years’ experience. She holds a BA (Hons) in Dance and an MA in Choreography from Leeds Beckett University and delivers inclusive dance sessions across a wide range of settings. Her work includes sessions for SEND groups, children and young people aged 4–14, Baby Ballet, youth dance, Dance and Dementia in care homes, and over-55s dance fitness.
Rachel has extensive experience working within schools and community contexts, including as a lead artist on the National Theatre’s Speak Up programme in partnership with CAST and Doncaster School for the Deaf. Over three years, she led weekly dance and creative arts sessions, supporting young people to collaboratively create performances and installations responding to issues that mattered to them, particularly in areas of low arts engagement.
Alongside community practice, Rachel runs Rachel Clarke Dance Company (RCDC), creating multidisciplinary work exploring her experience as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), supported by Arts Council England, Yorkshire Dance, and Leeds City College, and winner of both the Audience and Panel Awards at the Hull Dance Prize. She is also the Founder and Co-Director of Bradford Active Dance CIC, providing accessible dance opportunities for children aged 4–14 through schools and community hubs.
